Profoto announced it had acquired StyleShoots. StyleShoots is a maker of hardware and software solutions that eliminate the need to hire a crew and produce finished e-commerce fashion images through an automated, robotic studio.

Profoto claims that StyleShopots was acquired due to increased consumer online shopping and subsequent demand for digitalization in high volumes. Profoto plans to incorporate StyleShoots robotic Studios into its existing studio offerings in order to provide a “complete solution for ecommerce photography within fashion.”

Profoto CEO Anders Hedebark says, “With our history in fashion and studio photography and almost all of the images ending up online today, it is a very natural strategic move to add StyleShoots with their integrated workflow software, hardware solutions, to our studio offering to e-commerce photography.”

StyleShoots already contains everything you need to quickly create fashion photos, so it is not clear how Profoto will change any of its products.

Profoto acquires styleshoots

The StyleShoots machine includes built-in lights, software, an iPad, and the camera to take the photos. According to the company, its products are “ridiculously simple to use” and most of the processes can be automated. All the machine can be controlled using one iPad. Any adjustments can be made quickly and easily. All photos can be taken, edited and exported from one iPad screen. They are then ready for deployment on e-commerce sites.

Robotic Studio Company

StyleShoots is a technology company that creates photo and video automation tools for fashion online e-commerce. It holds a patent for a “all-in one” robotic studio for content production and claims that its products are used worldwide by hundreds of brands, including Nike, TJ Maxx and Macy’s.

In 2011, the company was founded with the launch its Horizontal flat-lay machine, which simplified simple clothing photos for ecommerce. StyleShoots then followed this in 2014 with the Vertical machine for ghost-mannequin packshots.

StyleShoots created the StyleShoots Live, the first robot-powered photo and video studio for still and live model production. It launched the Eclipse product in 2012 for shoe brands. This robotic all-in one photo and video machine captures crisp stills and creates cinematic videos of shoes.
