The Litepanels Gemini2x1 Soft RGBWW LED panel is a versatile and powerful tool in the world of LEDlighting. It can be used at home for video calls or on Hollywood’s most famous sets.

The choice of any lighting unit requires careful consideration. The Litepanels Gemini2x1 makes this balancing act a breeze. Its outstanding output and quality, great features, and an all-in-one design all make it easy to balance. All this while drawing only 325 watts.

The Litepanels Gemini2x1 is bright. It shines at 1079 lux per ten feet and outperforms other more expensive lights. The Gemini is a key light that I use when competing with windows or other bright backgrounds. The Gemini can still produce enough output, even with diffusion, to be effective in difficult environments.

Quality is more important than output. The Gemini has a remarkable 99 CRI (Color Rendering Index), at both 3200K white balances and 5600K white balances. Gemini objects will be lit accurately and will appear true to life. My Gemini is often used in commercials and promos alongside HMI and Tungsten units. I can mix sources confidently without worrying about complicated corrections in post production thanks to my near perfect CRI. I can also use the Gemini instead of bigger, more powerful lighting units to lower power draw and heat.

The Litepanels Gemini 2×1 offers a wide range of dimmable outputs (from 100% to 0.1%), 16 million color options, flicker free operation, lightweight construction, Wifi and Bluetooth connectivity. You can also power it with on-board batteries. My Gemini has been used in every possible role. It has been used as a keylight on run-and gun music videos, a grid-hung color changing cyclorama light, an fill lamp for portraits, a FX light to simulate police cars and paparazzi flashes, and many other roles. The Gemini is so versatile, I bring it with me to all my jobs, regardless of how large the lighting order. Just recently, I brought my Gemini to a job that required a 5-ton lighting package.

Because of its chameleon-like flexibility, the Gemini is able to meet or exceed modern productions. Speed is key and being on time is often the key to getting a call back for your next job. It is easy to set up and manage the Gemini. The Gemini’s all-in-one design makes it easy to set up and use without the need for external power supplies, cables or brackets.

Simple to Use Menu

The Litepanels Gemini 2×1 is easy to set up once it’s powered on. It has an intuitive, straightforward menu that makes it simple to dial in settings. To bring warmth to my subjects’ skin when working in daylight, as I do often, I use a 1/4 straw gel in the front of my key light. The Gemini eliminates the need to cut old-fashioned gels and saves time and labor. It also comes with an amazing list of pre-programmed corrections and party gels, including my favorite 1/4 straw. The Gemini makes it easy to get the gel you want by simply turning a dial on its back or using a tablet or dimmerboard to select the gel.

The Gemini can be easily integrated with popular dimming systems by being compatible with them via Bluetooth, RJ45, Wifi and Bluetooth. Remote dimming, color temperature and other parameter adjustments can be done even when the light is not available. This increases the efficiency of your unit and saves you valuable time.

Low Power Draw

Low power draw is the Gemini’s most efficient trick and perhaps its strongest attribute. At full output, the Gemini draws only 325 watts. The Gemini’s output per Watt is amazing to me as someone who grew in a Tungsten world. For 325 watts, you could run five Geminis on one household 20amp circuit. This flexibility allows for faster and more efficient sets.

Litepanels also offers an optional Gold Mount and V-Lock battery plates that allow you to charge the Gemini with a pair of cameras batteries. My Litepanels Gemini 2×1 uses Hypercore 150WH Gold Mount battery. I can run at maximum intensity for nearly an hour. It is great to be able to use a full-size panel anywhere, without worrying about how to power it. I have made the Gemini with a batteryplate my main light source in situations when house power is not available or impossible to access.

Last Thoughts

The Litepanels 2×1 Gemini is a great value. The Gemini is almost $1700 cheaper than its closest competitor. It has fewer features, a lower CRI and a heavier, bulkier frame. My Gemini has been my light source for almost every job for over three years. It’s reliable, reliable, and easy to use despite its frequent usage. The Litepanels Gemini 1×1 is a great product that I love and recommend to everyone.
